Islamabad High Court rejects petition seeking Chairman Senate removal

ISLAMABAD (Sahiwal News Live – 24 March 2021 – Saad) Islamabad High Court has rejected a petition seeking removal of the Chairman Senate, declaring it inadmissible.

According to the details, a petition was filed in Islamabad High Court by PPP leader Senator Yousuf Raza Gilani seeking annulment of the election of Chairman Senate and removal of Sadiq Sanjrani from the post of Chairman.

Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court reserved the verdict on the completion of the arguments of Yousuf Raza Gilani’s lawyer Farooq H Naik, which is now been announced.

Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Justice Athar Minallah in a 13-page judgment dismissed the petition of Yousuf Raza Gilani against Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjarani as inadmissible.

The judgment further said that it was a matter for Parliament and the proceedings of Parliament were protected under Article 69, so Islamabad High Court could not issue any direction in the matter.
