Development works are being completed on priority basis, Malik Noman Langarial

Sahiwal (Sahiwal News Live – 20 March 2021 – Arshad Butt) Provincial Minister Malik Noman Ahmed Langarial has said that all the attention of Punjab government is focused on providing relief to the people and providing them better civic amenities and ongoing development works are being completed on priority basis.

He said this while presiding over a meeting of the District RD Nation Committee at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in which the progress of work on ongoing development projects in the district was reviewed in detail.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Owais Mushtaq, Deputy Director Development Muhammad Akram Wattoo and Deputy Director Colleges Shabab Fatima along with officers of relevant departments. Provincial Minister Malik Noman Ahmad Langarial reviewed the ongoing projects under annual development programs at Jhal Road Flyover, Sahiwal. Assured additional funding for the construction of the bypass and shelter so that they could be completed on time.

Deputy Director Colleges Shabab Fatima said that the completion of Government Girls College under construction at 90 turns at a cost of Rs. 153 million has been delayed due to which the students of the area are being deprived of education. Strictly directed that the construction work of the college should be completed by March 31 and handed over to the Department of Higher Education so that classes could be started.

Deputy Director Development Muhammad Akram Wattoo said that under the Local Government Development Program, 402 schemes will be completed in the district at a cost of Rs. Tenders will be canceled and called again.

It was informed in the meeting that 11 projects for provision of additional facilities and upgradation in government schools are under construction at a cost of Rs. 86 million which will be completed during the same financial year. The Provincial Minister also expressed displeasure over the slow pace of work on the schemes given by the members of the Provincial Assembly under the Community Development Program and directed to expedite the development work under which 39 schemes are being completed at a cost of Rs. 50 crore.
