Punjab government offers Eid package to provincial employees

Lahore (Sahiwal News Live – April 9, 2021 – Arshad Butt) In the meeting chaired by Additional Chief Secretary Iram Bukhari, the Punjab government offers Eid package to provincial employees.

The proposal to give an Eid package in return for a 25 per cent increase in salaries is considered in the meeting. Additional Rs 8 billion will be provided to provincial employees in the salaries.

Employees will be paid 2 months salary with 25% increase. May, June pay can be given with a 25% increase, Finance Department suggested.

Additional Chief Secretary Iram Bukhari proposed the offer to APCA in the meeting. In the budget salaries of employees will be increased by 25%, the committee said.

To close the pay gap for employees of various government departments, the federal government issued a notification in Islamabad on February 10 that government teachers would be given a 25 per cent disparity reduction allowance before the budget.

The decision has been implemented in the federal capital Islamabad and Balochistan. Promises have not been fulfilled in the Punjab yet so the teachers and clerks are protesting.
